| The Amarillo Montessori academy does not discriminate based upon age, race, ethnicity or physical disability. AMA accepts children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5th grade. Pr-school children must be toilet-trained, with the exception of the toddlers (2-year-old children). Children who qualify by age, for the local public school Kindergarten program, will be considered for our Kindergarten program after consultation between teachers and parents.
The admissions procedure at AMA is a two-fold process. It is designed to give parents an opportunity to learn about the school, its philosophy and policies, and to meet our faculty. It also gives us an opportunity to assess each child's situation and determine whether we are able to meet the needs and expectations of the parents. Our goal is to enroll families who will both benefit from and contribute to the school community. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Amarillo Montessori Academy
1. Parents contact the school by calling (806)353-3871 to request an application packet.
2. Parents complete the packet and return it to the AMA office.
The deadline to submit applications for currently enrolled students is April 1.
New student applications will be accepted after April 1.
3. Once the application for enrollment is returned to the school by a prospective family, the Admissions Department will contact the family to schedule a classroom observation.
4. The administration will review the application, interview the family and make a decision regarding the acceptance of the applicant.
5. When the applicant is accepted a contract is sent to the parents. Upon acceptance, the new student registration fee or the re-enrollment fee is due in the office.
6. A student is formally admitted when the AMA office receives the signed contract and specified fees by the specified date.
