The Amarillo Montessori academy does not discriminate based upon age, race, ethnicity or physical disability. AMA accepts children between the ages of 6 weeks and Kindergarten. Pr-school children must be toilet-trained*, with the exception of the toddlers (2-year-old children). Three-year-old children who are not toilet trained* will be charged an extra $100 per month. Children who qualify by age, for the local public school Kindergarten program, will be considered for our Kindergarten program after consultation between teachers and parents.
The admissions procedure at AMA is a two-fold process. It is designed to give parents an opportunity to learn about the school, its philosophy and policies, and to meet our faculty. It also gives us an opportunity to assess each child's situation and determine whether we are able to meet the needs and expectations of the parents. Our goal is to enroll families who will both benefit from and contribute to the school community. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Amarillo Montessori Academy
- Parents review admission forms below.
- Parents contact the school at (806) 353-3871 to schedule a tour for adults.
- If an age-appropriate opening is available, the admissions department will contact the family to schedule an interview and classroom visit for the child.
- Parents complete the admission forms and return them to the AMA office with the new student registration fee.
- The administration will review the application and make a decision regarding the acceptance of the applicant.
The Amarillo Montessori Academy defines toilet trained as:
- The child is able to dress and undress him/herself
- The child knows when he/she needs to use the toilet
- The child can wipe their own bottom with toilet paper
